My murals aren’t just painted on surfaces—they’re woven into the very fabric of the communities they represent. They hold the stories, struggles, and spirit of the people, becoming part of the collective memory. The walls may carry the paint, but the real murals live in the hearts, minds, and shared experiences of those who see themselves reflected in them.
That’s why the destruction or neglect of these murals is more than just physical damage—it’s an erasure of heritage, identity, and the social infrastructure they helped build. Loughery’s work is the community—it’s the visible and invisible thread binding people to place.

Connecting Sovereign Hearts
Along Our Braided Trails

Like a magnetic force, I am drawn to my keyboard today during this time of darkness in the world media, seemingly choking our well being as Canadians! A new beginning has been cast upon us in the political platform that brings a fresh dawning into our collective journey.
Looking back on decades of advocating for a Rebirth of The Mother Road, which is a USA iconic symbol, I can’t help but think that my energy must now be redirected to protecting & preserving landmarks & heritage sites and nurturing our future well being by setting sights within our own homeland and concentrating our strengths ‘locally’…
During decades of my promoting international connectivity, Master Muralist and Heritage Advocate Michelle Loughery appeared into my life (An Angel of Foresight), she kept my spirits high by envisioning a powerful connection between Route 66 and our Canadian Heritage Highways sharing a common path (and) a common Mother.
Over decades of advocating as ‘History Keepers’ in many Art forms, Michelle’s focus inlaid decades ahead of her time. In today’s tumultuous climate and trade wars brewing between our longtime neighbours to the south and our scared homeland along the Trans Canada corridor, now more than ever we must rise and continue our journey on a cross-nation trajectory.
With paint brushes & scaffolding in hand, Michelle leads the charge to making Canada Greater & Brighter by painting the stories of our past from shore to shore highlighting the braided trails that have been carved and curated to connect hearts of many colors & stripes. A salute to Michelle for her endurance and grace into believing that a Highway called Route Blue is the peoples’ way to color our world and keep our country running on the Power of Art.
My faith in humanity is heightened by being part of Michell’s dream to draw Canadians together by lighting the way for all to see. Together, we are the light, and the Angels will follow us along the Trans-Canada connector by braiding the trails into a tapestry of bright lights that shall never fade.
Thank you, Michelle for restoring the human spirit trough your advocacy for humankind and transforming our stories & spirits into Edifying Art!
