VISION 2020 THE NEW DECADE
CELEBRATING ‘CLASSIC BLUE’ COLOR OF THE YEAR
A FRESH “ON SCREEN’ CANVASS FOR ART ROUTE BLUE
Scribed by Lorrie Fleming – January 13, 2020
“The world is a canvass furnished by nature and embroidered by imagination”, such articulate words of wisdom written by ancient scholars, remain powerful lessons passed through the walls of time. My own personal journey is akin to a multi-paged geographic pictorial that transports me to the far corners of society and the cultures therein. The ‘highway’ is our conduit of communities that houses each canvass in a physical motion and conveys the multitude of stories bestowed to society by each brush stroke transforming life onto a linear gallery. As with life, we start with a clean slate and in every step, we create a new stroke on life’s canvass.
In a heartwarming conversation with Michelle, I gleaned a glimpse of her childhood, appreciating a fact that my dear comrade shares a common thread relating to my own humble beginnings. As with many children growing up in the fifties & sixties, an era glorified in folklore by ‘The American Dream’ and the lure to travel, setting the world in motion! The National Geographic world in the form of a magazine arrived directly to our doorstep via post, delivering an alluring ‘Desire of Discovery’! During a recent conversation, Michelle revealed her affinity with the NG Magazine, expressing her fascination with the beloved primatologist, Jane Goodall and her decades of research & life among wild chimpanzees in Tanzania. Jane will be speaking at a public forum in Vernon, Michelle’s place of residence, to grace the Okanagan with her gift of passion for animals and the science enriched in her fieldwork.
As Michelle alludes, as we gather around the campfire, our grandmothers shall rise to tell the tales of our collective journeys. Connecting the dots and threading the needles into our love of nature, humanity and inclusivity that travel begets into our blended lives. Moreover, ‘ART-in-Motion’ shall continue to be the perpetual driver transporting humankind along a timeless journey of discovery & knowledge building.
Walls-Do-Talk…And Today, on the leading edge of technology, our canvass shifts in the form of a giant ‘on-line’ projector screen capable of transmitting sounds and carrying vast & colorful imagery of our ancestors. Through a hand-to-land Art mosaic, telling their stories in an augmented sense of realism shall authentically become ageless.
A Solute to ‘Route Blue’ and the Classic Blue Color of the Year!
